Recognition of Prior Learning
The NZDAA is now offering a Recognition of Prior Learning for experienced demolition professionals to retrospectively obtain their Certificate in Demolition (CPC3042) qualification.
This qualification has been designed to recognise previous work experience and utilise necessary information to allow you to obtain the qualification. You will be required to provide written evidence in the form of certificates, resume, letters and written explanations regarding situations you have been exposed to. You may also be asked to provide video or photographic evidence to support your application for recognition of prior learning. On successfully providing satisfactory evidence for each aspect of the course, you will then be issued a qualification covering the required units.

Who is this Course for?
The recognition of prior learning is for experienced demolition professionals who have been working in the industry for a number of years. This would be supervisor or another senior level contractor.

Enrolment Period: 15th June 2022 until 15th July 2022
Completion Date: 12th August 2022
Certification Cost
NZDAA Members $3,500+GST
Non NZDAA Members $4000+GST
50% deposit is required to complete enrolment. NZDAA Members must be a current and fully paid up member to obtain their discount.
Qualification Description
This qualification is designed to meet the needs of specialist demolition workers who dismantle and demolish public, residential, commercial and industrial structures of all types, and process the resulting materials for salvage, recycling and waste disposal.
Occupational titles could include:

Demolition plant operator

Demolition team leader.
This course covers and includes the following core competencies:

Work safely at heights

Identify hazards on demolition sites and apply risk management strategies

Select and use hand tools and equipment for demolition tasks

Select and use small plant and equipment for demolition tasks

Demolish small buildings and structures using hand tools and small plant and equipment

Select and use tools and equipment for hot work in the demolition industry

Read and interpret demolition site plans and drawings

Carry out measurements and calculations

Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry

Shift materials safely using manual handling methods

Handle dangerous goods/hazardous substances
This is an Australian certified qualification that has been fully adapted for the New Zealand regulations and industry requirements. This is a duel qualification that can be cross credited with the NZQAA unit standards which is currently in process.
